Dredd Sequel: Whatever It Takes? (2014)

This was the first project I started filming using a GoPro Hero 3 Black. It was written to be a mixture of testing out the kit for future action shots & also because of a love for the Movie Dredd (2012) starring Karl Urban. There is/was a very popular petition to get a Dredd Sequel made. So, one day I thought about the lengths some fans will go to get their desires & came up with this crazy journey round Derbyshire following one Dredd fan who will do Whatever It Takes to get home for something very important.

When you get to the dark section & hear the actor fall over, but continue speaking in character;it was real. He got a nasty sprained ankle, so that's why I left that section in the final edit; true dedication to his art. (Yes, it was me!!)

A major setback to completing this came when my original bike (Kawasaki ZX9R) broke down before getting all the required shots. I had to re-shoot some of the scenes months later on the Suzuki DR650 you see in the actual film.
When the want-to-be stuntman pulled out of jumping into the river because it was cold (unbelievable eh?) I had to find another location & do it myself. That's my feet you see falling into the water; allegedly jumping off the waterfall!
To wind our Props Master up, I exchanged my actual scream for the Wilhelm version; it has been far too overused, I agree, but I just find it amusing; he does not!
However, I have used the actual audio which I now call The Welbourn Scream in the Cawsome Creation Title Video if you wanted to know how scared I actually was.
